Set among the rice paddies of Kemenuh, just outside Ubud, Sua Bali offers a low-key, homely stay. Rooms are housed in traditional wooden joglos, furnished simply with handwoven textiles, open-air bathrooms and views over the gardens or paddies. A central bale (pavilion) acts as a communal lounge and kitchen, where guests often gather for breakfast or to share local tips.
There’s no pool or spa, but the real draw is the sense of calm and the chance to engage meaningfully with Balinese culture. Staff can arrange walks to nearby temples, introductions to local artisans, or transport to Kemenuh Butterfly Park and Tegenungan Waterfall. Sua Bali works closely with the local community through its Village Support Fund, with a portion of each stay going directly to grassroots initiatives.
